The Gujarat Law Society (GLS) added another educational institute to its list with the launch of the GLS Centre for Professional Studies on Saturday. The centre will initially offer coaching for the common proficiency test (CPT) to help students shape their careers as chartered accountants.
Considering the need for qualified accountants in India and abroad, ICAI is recognising students who have passed the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) exam for accounting technicians, he said.
CF Patel, director of the chartered accountancy academy at the GLS Centre for Professional Studies, spoke about the different approach the centre will provide. "We have received an overwhelming response from the students. We had to stop admissions after enrolling 251 students. While Ahmedabad is a hub for chartered accountancy coaching, having a large number of coaching classes, we will provide the best faculty in addition to special arrangements for teaching the English language to students from Gujarati medium, without levying extra fees," he said.
The centre will also introduce courses on intellectual property rights and MBA coaching in the near future.
